Questions and Answers

Clear answers about the booking process, documents, policies and what happens when you arrive on the island.

Common Questions About Booking

We receive the same questions regularly from travellers planning their visit to the island. This page consolidates answers about documentation, age limits, fuel policy, cancellation terms and what the voucher contains. If your question is not covered here, the contact page provides several ways to reach us.

Because we act as an intermediary connecting travellers with local suppliers, some details vary depending on which supplier fulfils your booking. The voucher issued after confirmation states the specific terms that apply to your reservation, including the deposit amount, coverage details and any restrictions. Always read the voucher carefully before you travel.

Documents and Driver Requirements

The documents you need and the age limits that apply depend on the supplier and the category of vehicle. Standard requirements are outlined below, but the voucher specifies exactly what the supplier expects when you collect the keys. Carry all documents in physical form; scanned copies on a phone are not accepted at the desk.

Most suppliers require the driver to have held a full licence for at least one year, though some categories demand two or three years of experience. An International Driving Permit is not usually required for EU, UK, US, Canadian or Australian licences, but it may be mandatory for licences issued in other jurisdictions. Check the voucher notes if you hold a non-Latin-script licence.

Fuel, Mileage and Additional Drivers

All bookings include unlimited mileage. The vehicle is handed over with a full tank and must be returned full. If the tank is not full at return, the supplier charges a refuelling fee plus the cost of the missing fuel at a higher rate than the pump price. Keep the last fuel receipt as proof if there is any dispute.

Adding a second driver is possible on most bookings. The fee is stated in the voucher or quoted by the supplier at the desk. The additional driver must meet the same age and licence requirements as the main driver and must be present with their documents when the vehicle is collected. Some suppliers allow a spouse or domestic partner to drive without an extra fee if both names appear on the booking; this is noted in the voucher when it applies.

Changes, Cancellations and Delays

If your booking includes free cancellation, you can cancel online up to the deadline stated in the voucher and receive a full refund of the advance payment. After the free cancellation period expires, the advance is non-refundable. If you need to change the dates or pick-up location, contact us as early as possible. We submit the change request to the supplier, who confirms whether it can be accommodated and whether any additional cost applies.

Flight delays are common during the summer season. If your arrival is delayed and you will miss the scheduled pick-up time, inform the supplier using the phone number on the voucher. Most desks at the airport remain staffed until the last flight of the day arrives, but if you land very late, the supplier may ask you to collect the vehicle the following morning instead. No charge applies for a delay caused by the airline, but you must notify the supplier as soon as you know your new arrival time.

The terms and conditions page contains the full cancellation and amendment policy. The payment methods page explains how refunds are processed when a cancellation is approved.

Frequently Asked Questions

What documents do I need to collect the vehicle?

You need a full driving licence held for at least one year, a credit or debit card in the main driver's name for the deposit, a passport or national ID card, and the booking voucher either printed or on your phone. If your licence is not in the Latin alphabet, an International Driving Permit may be required. The voucher specifies the exact documents the supplier expects.

What is the minimum age to book?

The minimum age is usually 21, though some suppliers accept drivers aged 19 or 20 with a young driver surcharge. Certain categories, especially larger or more powerful models, require the driver to be 23 or 25. The age limit and any surcharge are stated in the voucher.

Can I add a second driver?

Yes, most suppliers allow an additional driver for a fee stated in the voucher or quoted at the desk. The second driver must meet the same age and licence requirements and must be present with their documents when you collect the keys. Some suppliers waive the fee for a spouse or partner if both names are on the booking.

Is the mileage unlimited?

Yes, all bookings include unlimited mileage. You can drive as much as you need without any additional charge.

What is the fuel policy?

The vehicle is provided with a full tank and must be returned full. If the tank is not full at return, the supplier charges a refuelling fee plus the cost of the missing fuel at a rate higher than the pump price. Keep your last fuel receipt as proof.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Inform the supplier immediately using the phone number on the voucher. Most desks at the airport remain open until the last flight arrives, but if you land very late, the supplier may arrange for you to collect the vehicle the next morning. No charge applies for airline delays, but you must notify the supplier as soon as possible.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

If your booking includes free cancellation, you can cancel online up to the deadline stated in the voucher and receive a full refund. To change dates or pick-up location, contact us and we will submit the request to the supplier. Changes are subject to availability and may incur an additional cost.

What does the booking voucher contain?

The voucher contains the pick-up and drop-off details, the vehicle category, the supplier's name and contact information, the deposit amount, the coverage included, the fuel policy, the cancellation terms, and any restrictions or additional fees. Read it carefully before you travel.

How much is the deposit?

The deposit amount varies by supplier and vehicle category and is stated in the voucher. It is blocked on a credit or debit card when you collect the keys and released when you return the vehicle undamaged with a full tank. The block typically clears within a few days, depending on your card issuer.

Do I need a credit card?

Most suppliers require a credit card in the main driver's name for the deposit. A minority of offers accept a debit card instead; this is noted in the voucher when it applies. Prepaid cards and virtual cards are not accepted.

Can I cross to the mainland or to Albania?

Taking the vehicle on a ferry to the mainland or crossing into Albania is not permitted under standard terms. If you need to travel beyond the island, contact us before booking to check whether an exception can be arranged. Unauthorised border crossings void the insurance.

What insurance is included?

All bookings include third-party liability and collision damage waiver with an excess. The excess amount, which is the maximum you are liable for in the event of damage, is stated in the voucher. Some suppliers offer additional coverage to reduce or eliminate the excess; this is quoted at the desk or noted in the voucher.

What if I have a problem with the vehicle?

Contact the supplier immediately using the phone number on the voucher. If the vehicle breaks down or develops a fault, the supplier arranges a replacement or roadside assistance. If the issue cannot be resolved and you believe the supplier has not honoured the terms, contact us and we will assist with the complaint.

Where can I find your terms and conditions?

The full terms are published on the terms and conditions page. They cover your relationship with us as the booking platform. The supplier's terms, which govern the actual rental, are provided by the supplier when you collect the keys.
